•CO2 solubility in aqueous solutions of potassium lysinate is realized.•Kent Eisenberg correlation is applied from literature data to fit equilibrium constants.•Desmukh-Mather model is applied to better perform VLE prediction.•Speciation of the main components is determined as a function of CO2 loading.
