Design and validation of a questionnaire on the use of technological tools in innovation in STEM subjects

Health confinement highlighted the need for the use of technological tools and active methodologies as innovative methods in teaching and learning processes. This paper aims to provide an instrument to evaluate the use of these media as a form of teaching innovation in the teaching of STEM subjects. A Likert scale was administered to 566 high school teachers from schools in Ecuador, with two blocks on the use of ICT media and the use of active methodologies. The data obtained were subjected to an analysis of reliability and internal consistency by means of an exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. The results offer a satisfactory solution for the theoretical model proposed. Therefore, this scale offers the possibility of evaluating the use of ICT tools and active methodologies from the perspective of an innovative formula in the teaching of these subjects.
