The potential of computed tomography in odontometry: application to a Mesolithic dog
Journal of Archaeological Science: Reports(2022)
Abstract
•Small intra- and inter-observer variations were obtained from Computed Tomography (CT)-based dental measurements.•CT dental measurements collected from a reference collection were similar to those obtained with the standard digital caliper.•CT-based dental measurements of the Mesolithic Muge canid further confirmed it as a dog.•Veterinary imaging data can be used to document dog odontometrics reference values.
