•Ca. 860 Ma and 825 Ma granitoids were identified in the Bikou Terrane.•Re-melting of subducted oceanic crust produced ca. 860 Ma adakitic granitoids.•Partial melting of ancient lower crust formed ca. 825 Ma I-type granitoids.•The Bikou Terrane was in a subduction-related setting in the early Neoproterozoic.
