Selection of Service Carrying Performance Evaluation Indexes for Power Backbone Optical Transmission Networks under SDON Architecture

With the continuous development of SDON and electric communication networks, it has become an inevitable trend to construct power backbone transmission network under Software-defined optical networks (SDON). In order to better evaluate service bearing performance of the power backbone network using SDON technology, evaluation indicators were comprehensively collected in this paper according to the characteristics of SDON architecture. Five attributes were determined for each indicator, and the value of the attributes were assigned using Analytic hierarchy process (AHP). After comparing with other multi-attribute decision making methods, simple additive weight (SAW) was used to accomplish the aggregation and sort of the attributes value, and 13 indicators were ultimately determined among the total 30 indicators, which are more targeted and have less redundancy, and formed a new index system which is more applicable to power backbone transmission network under SDON. This lays a foundation for future application of SDON technology in power backbone transmission network.
