Hybrid endovascular and laparoscopic treatment of infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysms

The endovascular treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms (EVAR) comprises a reintervention rate of almost 20% related to endoleaks, mostly of type 2. We propose a new approach of the treatment of AAAs which associates EVAR and the laparoscopic ligation of all the collaterals of the aneurysmal sac. This technique (LEVAR) aims to benefit from the advantages of an aortic stentgraft while avoiding the complications related to type 2 endoleaks.
