Performance evaluation of composite polymerized asphalt materials for waterproofing layer in high-speed railway system

•Composite polymerized asphalt materials were prepared for the durable waterproofing layer in high-speed railway system.•Composite polymerized asphalt concrete mixtures were specially designed using the modified Marshall design method towards waterproofing.•Composite polymerized asphalt concrete mixtures satisfied the requirements of high-speed railway waterproofing layer in terms of waterproofing, moisture susceptibility, thermal cracking, and permanent deformation.
