Abstract
•The films developed showed remarkable antibacterial and antioxidant effects that result in improved healing efficiency.•Films can be fabricated from the synthetic or natural polymers , with a high specific surface area and void ratio.•Hyaluronic acid enhanced film,s antioxidant, antibacterial properties, and accelerated the healing of the infected wounds .•Hyaluronic acid can be functionalised by means of non-covalent binding with two-dimensional materials and polymers.
