Their letter raises the important question of evidence quality supporting cardiac ERAS. We agree that there is a paucity of randomized clinical trials evaluating cardiac ERAS. Although aspirational, quality randomized clinical trials may not be feasible for interventions as extensive as ERAS bundles.
