Mononuclear nickel and copper complexes as electrocatalyst for generation of hydrogen from acetic acid

Two mononuclear complexes of Ni(II) and Cu(II) with an ONON donor ligand have been synthesized and characterized by different standard methods. Both of the complexes have been employed as effective electrocatalyst for hydrogen evolution reaction using acetic acid as the proton source.
