Abstract
A 75-year-old female was admitted to our hospital for chronic pulmonary thromboembolism. Computed tomography angiography revealed unexpectedly that the abdominal aorta was significantly narrowed and completely occluded at the infrarenal level. She didn't experience intestinal or lower limb claudication, and has a medical history of resistant hypertension for 40 years. Bilateral femoral, popliteal, and pedal pulses were palpable. The superior mesenteric artery(Green), the arc of Riolan(White) and the inferior mesenteric artery(Yellow) were dilated, retaining adequate blood flow to the abdomen, pelvis, and lower limbs. Even without surgical intervention, congenital dysplasia of the localized infrarenal abdominal aorta has a favorable prognosis.
