Abstract
•This is the first study about the functions of GSG2 in HCC progression.•GSG2 is overexpressed in hepatic carcinoma tissues.•GSG2 was able to inhibit cell proliferation and promote cell apoptosis after being knocked down.•GSG2 perhaps regulates the progression of HCC through PI3K/AKT signal pathway.
