摘要
Emission relates to the release of the products of combustion to the ambience from within a combustion unit usually in the gaseous form, these being hazardous to the human lives in general. In the present examination, combustion and outflow attributes of yttria stabilized zirconia was observed in a diesel engine by consolidated impact of ferric chloride and steam injection as fuel added substance were contemplated. In this experiment ferric chloride has been elected as catalyst. The mixing of catalyst with the inlet air generate higher bonding of iron-oxo as a result it enhance the process of combustion which ultimately shows better hydrocarbon oxidation. As ferric chloride can be easily mixed with diesel, so we added 0.2 g L-1 of catalyst in our experiment. The outcome shows that when we add 0.2 g L-1 Ferric chloride with diesel in yttria stabilized zirconia covered motor together with steam injection, it diminished the emissions. The percentage of emissions diminished was given by 31%, 33%, 42% and 59% for nitrogen oxide, carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and smoke opacity respectively when compared with a typical uncoated diesel engine.
