Abstract
The article presents results of a research on the meanings of criticism contained in environmental education (EE) works, with a focus on the Environmental Education Research Meeting (EPEA). To this end, a survey of the works of Critic EE in its ten editions was made and the authors and works most used as references in the most significant years (2009-2019) were systematized. In a complementary way, a qualitative analysis of the existing meanings was made in a sample of these works. The analysis pointed out that the criticism is directed to the way contemporary society determines the environmental issue and, therefore, its educational intent is to transform it, considering its multiple dimensions. Within this broad definition, there are several emphases and ways of understanding the corporate crisis, creating internal nuances and distinctions from the perspective of critical EA.
