摘要
Twenty years on from the publication of the Giribaile funerary monument, excavation data are provided in or- der to review its nature and historical relevance. The new intervention has made it possible to document the foun-dations of a monumental construction and the remains of other structures, including part of a pebble border, char-acteristic of the Castulo necropolis. Also included is the cataloguing of the most important assemblage of Attic and black-glazed ware sherds the settlement has provided so far. The study is completed with an analysis of the three-dimensional scan carried out on the architectural elements scattered around the study area that has made it possible to propose a volumetric reconstruction of the main build-ing. This monument thus becomes the central element of an ideological space for the legitimation of political power and is revealed as a prominent landmark in the landscape that connects it with the Punic as well as the Iberian tra-dition of the cenotaph. This new contribution reopens the debate about the importance of Carthaginian culture in the Castulo region.
