Comparing the Stress, Anxiety, and Learning Effects of Leaders and Team Members in High Fidelity Nursing Simulation

•The nursing competency of all participants improved after the simulation.•Immediately after the scenario experience, all participants had an increase in pulse rate and anxiety.•There was no difference in nursing competency and self-confidence between the team leader and team member roles.•There were no differences in stress and anxiety between the team leader and team member roles.•The learning satisfaction of team leaders was greater than that of team members.
