Syntheses, characterizations and structures of organometallic tri- and tetra-dentate ferrocenoyl enaminone ligands and their unsymmetrical Schiff base derivatives

•Tri- and tetra-dentate ferrocenyl-functionalised enaminone ligands were synthesized.•Series of unsymmetrical N2O2 enaminone Schiff base ligands were prepared.•Enaminone and Schiff base ligands were characterized by single-crystal X-ray crystallography.
