Development of the modified quasichemical model in the distinguishable-pair approximation for multiple compositions of short-range ordering

•The modified quasichemical model in the distinguishable-pair approximation has been developed.•The model is validated to be very effective and accurate in treating solutions having manifold SROs.•The model can be completely transformed to the modified quasichemical model in the pair approximation.
