摘要
Fabrication of magnesium oxide nanostructures from aqueous solution of magnesium chloride salt, by thermal plasma method, has been investigated and effects of cooling temperature as well as concentration of salt in the aqueous solution on the properties of synthesized nanostructures were studied experimentally. Three mechanisms of cooling include cooling with atmospheric air, argon flow in opposite directions, and water were examined to produce magnesium oxide nanoparticles at two concentrations of raw material. Results show that in any case, 95% purity rod shape and spherical magnesium oxide nanostructures may be produced by thermal plasma method. Cooling mechanism is a powerful tool to control the morphology of synthesized nanostructure. Furthermore, it was observed that sizes of nanostructures were decreased with decreasing the concentration of injected materials.
