Cytotoxicity of asymmetric mononuclear silver(I)-N-heterocyclic carbene complexes against human cervical cancer: Synthesis, crystal structure, DFT calculations and effect of substituents
Journal of Organometallic Chemistry(2022)
Abstract
•Asymmetrical N,N’-disubstituted NHC ligands and mononuclear silver(I)-NHC complexes.•Cytotoxic against human cervical cancer cells.•Silver ions and long alkyl chains significantly enhanced cytotoxicity.•Ag–C bond strength is insensitive to NHC ligands design.•Noncovalent interaction contributed to one-third of overall complex binding enthalpy.
