Synthesis, Characterization, and Study of Physicochemical Properties as well as the Kinetics of Thermal Degradation of Homopolyesters Containing s-Triazine Ring
INDIAN JOURNAL OF HETEROCYCLIC CHEMISTRY(2022)
Abstract
A series of six homopolyesters was prepared using high-temperature polycondensation of 4,6-bis (N-(4-(benzoylchloride)amino))-2-(N-phenyl-piperazin-1-yl)-1,3,5-triazine with various dials. Physicochemical properties of synthesized homopolyesters such as solubility, density, and viscosity were determined. The characterization of synthesized homopolyesters was carried out by Fourier transform infrared and H-1 nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum. Thermogravimetric analysis was used to study the kinetics of thermal degradation of synthesized homopolyesters. Broido, Horowitz-Metzger, Coast-Redfern, and Chan et al. models were used to find out activation energy (E-a). The values of E-a determined from all the four models are in good agreement.
