摘要

•Electrochemical methods enable synthesis of mixed oxides of bismuth and tungsten.•Mixed oxide Bi2O3/Bi2WO6 has higher photoelectrocatalytic activity than pure metal oxides.•Mixed oxide Bi2O3/Bi2WO6 showed sustained and stable photocurrent over time.•Histamine was completely degraded by photoelectrocatalytic treatment.•Superoxide radical was identified as main oxidant species generated.
