摘要

•Compounds 1 & 4 prepared by conventional heating while 2, 3 and 5 were synthesized under solvothermal conditions.•The +3 oxidation state of Co in 1 and 4 was evidenced through XPS, 1H-NMR, CV and magnetic studies.•Lattice waters in 1 were eleven while it reduced to five in compound 4.•Compounds 1 and 4 exhibited electron transfer properties with ferrocene and its derivatives.
