Pattern of F2-Layer Peak Electron Density across African Ionosonde Locations and Response to Solar Activity

•Both the pre-noon and post-noon NmF2 peaks at the equatorial locations decreases with descending order of Geographic latitude.•At 06LT of the LSA and HSA, NmF2 magnitude decreases with decreasing order of longitude across the stations in the east-western direction.•Semi-annual asymmetry is not a feature of the nighttime NmF2 pattern at mid-latitudes, but present at all times in the equatorial latitudes.
