Trajectories of mental health services for youth in foster care with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder

•A large proportion of youth in foster care are diagnosed with ADHD.•We examine mental health service use over time among youth in foster care with ADHD.•Youth with ADHD who lived apart from siblings showed higher service use.•Service use for youth varied by level of behavioral health severity.•Periodic review of service use and behavioral health needs best serves youth.
