“Integrity is integrity. IT doesn't matter the context”: A qualitative exploratory study of academic integrity in an undergraduate nursing program

•Academic integrity prepares students with knowledge and skills necessary for graduate practice.•Integrity is a core expectation in nursing and aligns with professional nursing practice.•The link between academic integrity and professional integrity needs to be made explicit.•Assessment design needs to focus on promoting academic integrity and minimizing opportunities to cheat.
