Abstract
•Junior and senior residents attribute value of rotation characteristics differently, meaning nuance is required when making changes to rotations as some changes may benefit 1 group of residents and may be detrimental to the other.•Two broad categories of residents were found – those that valued content and accomplishment and those that valued work and learning environment.•Residents favor personal characteristics compared to structural characteristics of rotations.
