Abstract
•A cross over behaviour for sc-CO2 extraction was observed at p around 40 MPa.•An increase in p and T led to an increase of antioxidant capacity in the extracts.•BSG was subjected to enzymatic hydrolysis after fat removal by sc-CO2.•sc-CO2 treated BSG led to higher enzymatic hydrolysis yield compared to untreated.•Improvement was mainly due to lipid removal and surface modification after sc-CO2.
