Solution behavior of half sandwich ruthenium(II) complexes ligated by sym N,N'-diarylthiourea: Structural aspects and temperature dependent NMR

摘要
•Ruthenium complexes 1-7 were synthesized by η6-p-cymene and sym N,N′-diarylthiourea in toluene at room temperature with 86%−95% yields.•The mode of coordination was confirmed by spectroscopic methods and X-ray crystallography.•Complexes 2 and 7 exhibited two isomers in about 2:1 and 1:0.15 ratios respectively in solution and confirmed by VT 1H NMR spectral titration.•The VT 1H NMR spectral pattern was attributed to the rotation through C−N(H)Ar single bond of thiourea in 2.•The VT 1H NMR spectral pattern showed the sulfur inversion of one of the coordinated thiourea in 7.
