Abstract
The inhibition of corrosion rate is attempted by the major five methods, regarded as the easiest and the cheapest method with high effectiveness to avoid corrosion to materials. This study focuses on the utilization of guava leaves extract as the corrosion inhibitor of materials, containing natural contents regarded as the promising organic protection to metals. This study is further considered as the experimental research by adding the variance of inhibitor concentration to the corrosive media. The weighing of specimens was conducted in before and after the specimens, immersed in the corrosive media with and without the green inhibitor addition. The data indicates that the guava leaves prevent the corrosion rate increasing to A36 steel and retaining its hardness value.
