Prevalence and correlates of incarceration following emergency medical services response to overdose

•Incarceration in county jail followed one in ten overdose-involved EMS responses.•Overdose incidents had higher odds of incarceration than non-overdoses.•Overdose patients who were incarcerated were booked on paraphernalia charges.•Jail booking post stimulant overdose occurred more often than post opioid overdose.
