Abstract
•Optimized test temperature for Meliponula bocandei was 22 °C and the effect of cypermethrin was assessed on the bee.•Cypermethrin affected the survival of M. bocandei and reduced their response to sucrose.•Cypermethrin altered selected energy metabolites and biomarkers of oxidative stress in the bees.
