Abstract
•In this study, Au-Pt nanoparticles decorated poly(p-aminophenol) film on glassy carbon electrode (Au-Pt/PAP/GCE) was developed for direct electrooxidation of sodium borohydride.•The catalysts were used for the investigation of borohydride electrooxidation and compared catalytic activities by cycling voltammetry, rotating disk electrodes and chronoamperometric techniques.•AFM, SEM, XPS and cyclic voltammetry were used to identify the structural and morphological properties of the developed modified surfaces.•Based on the data obtained from all experiments and calculations, the best catalytic activity was obtained with simultaneous deposition of Au and Pt nanoparticles on PAP/GC electrode.
