Gain and Directivity Enhancement of UWB Antenna using Meta-surface and its Application for UWB- Wireless Network Security

In this work an UWB antenna with enhanced gain and directivity is proposed for UWB-WSN application. The antenna is designed on the low cost FR4 subtrate with overall size 24 mm x 24 mm and dielectric constant of the substrate is 4.4. Initially, the antenna with circular monopole and partial ground is designed. Further, the meta-surface is developed using unit cell .To improve the gain and directivity of the antenna, developed meta-surface is placed at the hight of 30 mm over the antenna. The impedance bandwidth of the antenna with and without meta-surface are also analyzed. The antenna with meta-surface is attained wide impedance bandwidth. The main aim of the meta-surface placing over the antenna to attain enhances gain and directivity. The antenna with meta surface offered good directivity more than 2.3 dBi and wide impedance bandwidth 3.5 GHz-10 GHz.
