Experimental and chemical kinetic study on the laminar flame characteristics of the blends of n-propanol and isooctane at elevated temperature and pressure

•Laminar flame speeds of the blends of n-propanol and isooctane were determined at two pressures.•A high temperature kinetic model was constructed for the blends of n-propanol and isooctane.•The reason causing laminar flame speed variation with the blending ratio of n-propanol was analyzed.•The flame instability characteristics were analyzed for the blends of n-propanol and isooctane.
