Observations on Pluteaceae in Vietnam. 3. One new species of Volvariella

One new species of Volvariella (V. orientalis) is described based on materials collected from Vietnam. The species is characterized by large, stout basidiocarps with pilose-squamulose pileus, saccate volva, basidiospores 7.5-8.5 x 5.0-6.0 mu m, and mucronate cheilocystidia. The macro-and microscopic descriptions with discussion on similar taxa are given, and their taxonomic position is supported by phylogenetic analyses based on nrITS and nrLSU regions.
