摘要

•Implantation at room temperature led to amorphisation of glassy carbon structure.•Highly recovery of the damaged region was observed after annealing at 1500 °C.•The HRTEM of the virgin glassy carbon exhibited some features similar to fullerenes.•The onion-like features suggest that glassy carbon is a disordered form of carbon.
