The Bazman and Taftan volcanoes of southern Iran: Implications for along-arc geochemical variation and magma storage conditions above the Makran low-angle subduction zone

•Bazman is composed of normal arc calc-alkaline basic to acid volcanics.•Taftan is dominated by intermediate compositions with adakitic affinity.•Taftan lavas record trace element evidence for involvement of subducted sediments.•Geobarometric calculations indicate the upper crustal level for the magma chambers.•Mineral chemistry suggests both open- and closed-system magma chamber processes.
