摘要
•Sterile conk of Inonotus obliquus was investigated with 13C CPMAS NMR and FTIR.•Conk bark and inner layers spectra were respectively closer to birch wood and hyphae.•Inner layers closer to hyphae were situated below the bark.•Decayed birch lacked white-rot degradation spectroscopical pattern.
