摘要

•A modification of ASTM D4737 standard to calculate biodiesel cetane index is proposed.•The modification is based on distillation curves and density of 14 biodiesel types.•The proposed equation may substitute biodiesel cetane number determination.•Calculated cetane index show low deviation from the current regulation.
