摘要

•Dimethyl sulfoxide decreases the thermodynamic stability of carbon dioxide hydrate.•Obtained CO2 hydrate dissociation data are reliable and thermodynamically coherent.•Phases of sI hydrate, crystalline ice Ih, and solid CO2 were identified by PXRD.•DMSO avoids inclusion into the CO2 hydrate framework.•DMSO is an effective thermodynamic inhibitor of CO2 hydrate formation.
