Lasers in dermatology. Recommendations of the Polish Dermatological Society. Part 1. Lasers in dermatosurgery

Lasers and intense light sources have made it possible to treat many diseases in dermatology. They also may be applied in aesthetic dermatology. These recommendations contain a summary of basic concepts, information on physical parameters and types of lasers used in modern dermatology. Part 1 of recommendations concerns the use of CO2 erbium:YAG lasers in dermatosurgery. Taken into consideration the wide use of CO2 lasers in dermatology, these lasers may be considered a basic therapeutic tool for every dermatologist.
