The relationship between life events and sense of coherence in adolescence. A longitudinal twin study

•Life events and sense of coherence in 2,878 adolescent twins were examined.•A longitudinal design with three measurement waves spaced two years apart was used.•Genetically informative random intercept cross-lagged panel models were used.•Life events and sense of coherence are genetically associated.•The longitudinal associations were negligible in magnitude.
