摘要
Due to its low density and outstanding physical and mechanical qualities, magnesium matrix composites have prospective applications in aerospace, automobile and orthopedics. As biocompatible materials, Magnesium and its composites have attracted essential research in the area of orthopaedics. Magnesium based implants, on the other hand, have been limited in their medical applications due to their poor corrosion resistance. To overcome these limitations Mg matrix composites are fabricated using various techniques. Powder metallurgy (PM) is most suitable fabrication process among all. It is a broad phrase that refers to a variety of methods for fabricating components out of metal powder. It is an effective technique for making Magnesium based composites that are suitable for bio-implants. This study demonstrates the significance, production, and properties of Magnesium based composites that are suited for applications in biomedical field. This review study also reports on the major findings of mechanical characteristics of some previously synthesized Mg matrix composites.
