摘要

•Metallic fuel database was reviewed to understand the evolution of the top of the fuel.•EBR-II radiographs were analyzed to determine axial swelling and fluff height.•Correlation with operating parameters were developed for these two phenomena.•BISON simulations are used for the first time to suggest fluff formation mechanisms.
