•Partially end pumped Nd:YAG InnSlab geometry was used.•Stable two mirror cavity applied for laser operation at 1.3 μm.•The pump beam shaping system, consisted of waveguide and spherical, cylindrical lenses.•Partially-end pumped Innoslab configuration mange the thermal lens.•Thermal lens’s focal length was determined.
