摘要
•This review highlights various miniaturized surface engineered biosensors for the detection of reactive oxygen species (ROS).•Correlation of the ROS chemistry with disease has been discussed critically.•Among all types of ROS, superoxide (O2̇-), hydroxyl (•OH), and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) exhibit higher pathological responses, and detection of these is the main focus of this review.•We have described the developed sensors for detection through the help of various illustrative schemes.
