Abstract
•The hydrodynamic influence on faceted crystal growth was clearly observed and evidence was presented in this paper.•An asymmetry of the crystal facets growth was introduced by the melt flow magnitude and direction.•The flow hydrodynamics is able to induce a similar effect to that caused by natural anisotropy in a faceted crystal growth.
