High-efficient internal resonance energy harvesting: Modelling and experimental study

•The proposed device consists of bi-directional, multi-mode and internal resonance features.•Theoretical investigations are presented to predict the resonant modes and mode shapes.•Experimental results depict a two-to-one internal resonance between the first and second transverse modes.•High-efficient and broadband operations are achieved at both the first and second transverse modes.
