Metastatic paraganglioma of the spine associated with autosomal dominant hereditary paraganglioma-pheochromocytoma syndrome

•First case report of metatastatic paraganglioma of the spine associated with SDHD mutation and autosomal dominant hereditary paraganglioma-pheochromocytoma syndrome.•Metastatic extra-adrenal paraganglioma of the spine is a rare phenomenon with limited case reports and 2 small case series described in the English literature. Furthermore, genetic testing was not performed in the majority of the cases.•Metastatic lesions of the spine in patients with paraganglioma or pheochromocytoma must be promptly evaluated to rule out genetic syndromes and for prognostic implications.
